Beans aren’t just nutritious, they’re also a great way to introduce children to reading. One of Little Zebra’s most popular titles is the Bean Book which, through simple illustrations, introduces children to the joy of reading in their own language.
Learning to count gives kids a sense of achievement and builds confidence while having fun. And our Bean Books teach more than counting. According to Little Zebra Books Field Projects coordinator Jeni Bister:

Over 80,000 Bean Books have been published in 9 African languages so far, reaching children across Africa. And our numbers are growing – we’ve named 2022 the Year of the Bean! We’ll be celebrating this wonderful book and also challenging others to translate it into their own language.
