The accomplishments of Little Zebra Books in the last eight years are worth celebrating. Since 2013, this small charity has produced more than 1,000,000 books for children in Africa. We’ve commissioned world-class artists to produce more than 50 illustrated books for African children. Our faith-based approach has allowed us to share God’s love with children across Africa in more than 23 languages.
This tremendous productivity has been thanks to the incredible generosity of donors and partners who have given faithfully on a monthly basis as well as giving to special fundraisers throughout the year.
But now we are looking to the future! How can you and I ensure that children in this and future generations continue to have access to beautiful books that share God’s love in their own language? For this reason, we are establishing the Little Zebra books Future Fund. This fund will allow those of us who care about this mission to provide for it financially long into the future. This is crucial right now for two reason. First, 75% of Little Zebra Books donors and partners are 65 years-old and over. We must take steps now to make sure that this mission has sustainable funding when these faithful supporters are gone. Second, the founders of Little Zebra Books, David and Hilary Ker and Jeni Bister are approaching retirement age. We must begin to plan and invest in the future leadership of this organization so that it continues after they retire.
The Future Fund will allow large donations, estate giving and other donations to be used to provide sustainable funding for the mission as well as invest in training and hiring of the next generation of Little Zebra Books staff.
